Laura was born and raised in the International Churches of Christ (ICOC), a fundamentalist evangelical church, and disaffiliated as a young teen. Since then, she has dedicated herself to supporting those leaving insular and fundamentalist Christian communities. She is an organizational consultant for small, service-based businesses and is completing her undergraduate degree in Organizational Design and Social Identity Development at the City College of New York. She lives in New York City with her husband and three children, and in her leisure time enjoys reading fiction and jigsaw puzzles.
